Many people believed that this sudden change happened because Robert made a deal with the Devil, According to the story, Johnson went to a local crossroads in mississippi.
It is referenced during the first bluewater John mission. Robert johnson met the devil there and sold his soul in exchange for musical talent.
The devil is referenced during the missions, as well. During the first encounter, John turns into a serpent.
