Hidden Dreamcatcher Quest Objective? (Mural Explained)

Red dead 2 is filled with many cool side quests, but one of them is particularly interesting.

The quest tells you to collect twenty dreamcatchers which lead you to the ancient secret, But after collecting the arrowhead and inspecting the painting, the quest never disappears from your quest log.

This might be a glitch, but given how well known it is you'd think Rockstar would've fixed it in an update by now.

The reason for it might be that the quest isn't over yet and has a hidden part to it. The painting is based on real life cave paintings in lascaux caves.

They're believed to have been made by either early modern humans or neanderthals. If so, then this easter egg could be linked to the dead neanderthal found in ped models.

Which hint at two more ancient arrowheads.

Let's take a look at the bison spawners.

There are three in new hanover.

The legendary white bison.

And the spawner in great plains.

The placement of the little circles on the painting looks like the placement of the spawners on the map. The triangle in new hanover.

The one in great plains, and the legendary white bison. If this is an easter egg.

It should have something to do with the spawners. The New Austin tatanka bison would've been somewhere under this rock, It's probably excluded, so Arthur can solve this mystery too.

One circle stands out the most, it's the one with the ancient arrowhead in it.

While you can easily find bisons in other places, this spawner is surprisingly difficult.

It’s very rare to find this bison with potent hervivore bait and most likely, impossible to find it without one.

This spot seems to be the best one to use your bait on. Unlike other spawners in new hanover and great plains, this place spawns just a single bison.

It’s unclear why it's so rare and how to solve this mystery. The bison doesn't lead you anywhere and has nothing unusual after you skin it.
