God of War: Ragnarok features multiple bosses and deities to fight and prove your mettle. For experienced players, this guide covers the locations of the seven secret Trolls you can challenge. These boss fights test your skills and help you sharpen your combat abilities. The fights are unlocked by acquiring the Heirloom, which awakens the trolls.
Heirloom Location
The Mystical Heirloom is located in the Midgard realm. Go to the Lake of Nine and place the Mystical Gateway on your left. Travel right across the frozen lake toward a wall on the right side. This wall will be shimmering yellow, and Kratos must throw his Draupnir Spear through it. Detonating the spear will open a path. Continue along the new route by jumping over the barrier. The Mystical Heirloom will be on the left. Pick it up to unlock the Troll fights.
1st Troll (Blóðugr Steinn)
The first secret Troll is located in the Midgard realm. Travel to the Derelict Outpost via the Mystical Gateway. Straight ahead, you will see a hanging chain. Climb it to reach the outpost entrance. Continue along the path until you see an enclosed platform on the left. Swing across the gap to reach it, then turn right and swing to the next platform. Defeat the purple orb enemy there. Afterward, the Troll will be on your left. Awaken it by selecting the relic and pressing L1 + O on your controller.
2nd Troll (Vísi Haglkorn)
The second Troll is also in Midgard. After returning from the Derelict Outpost, get on your dog sled and head back to the frozen lake. Turn right and continue straight until you spot a path climbing toward the mountain on the right. Follow this path until an obstacle stops the sled. Climb over it and continue toward the mountaintop, where Vísi Haglkorn will be kneeling in prayer. Approach to begin the fight.
3rd & 4th Troll (Gölráb of the Frost & Gölráb of the Ashes)
The third and fourth Trolls are located in the Vanaheim realm. Use the Mystical Gateway to reach Freyr’s Camp. It is recommended to go during the day, as a log blocks the river at night. If you arrive at night, use the Celestial Altar near the Gateway to change it to day. From the Gateway, take the boat and head left, following the river. After reaching a wide area of water, continue left toward Noatun’s Garden. Upon landing, move toward the wall and activate the relic to awaken both Trolls.
5th Troll (Brenna Banamaðr)
This fire Troll is located in Vanaheim. Use the Mystical Gateway to reach the Crater Entrance. To the right of the Gateway, climb over a wall with Norse inscriptions. Continue straight for about 30–40 yards, and the Troll should appear on the right. If it does not spawn, cross the river and defeat the Untamed Fury to trigger the encounter. Be prepared, as additional enemies may join the fight.
6th Troll (Miklimunnr)
The sixth Troll is located in Svartalfheim. Travel to the Aurvangar Wetlands and use the ferry to reach the Applecore Descent. If the ferry is unavailable, complete the main story or the Funeral side quest. From the Mystical Gateway, turn left and follow the path until you see an opening leading downward. Go down slightly, turn right, and use your spear to climb over the wall with Norse inscriptions.
After crossing the wall, continue forward until you reach a split path. Take the left path and proceed until you reach an open area. Swing across the gap, climb the ledge with Norse inscriptions, and enter the tunnel. At the end, descend the hanging chain to reach an enclosed space. The Troll is behind the large door, which will collapse as you land.
7th Troll (Bjarg Stormr)
The final Troll is located in the Alfheim realm. Travel to The Hjarta via the Mystical Gateway. With the Gateway on your right, ride your sled through the tunnel on the right. Follow the tunnel into a clearing, then turn left to find a blue puddle. Follow the trail of blue puddles until you reach the third one. Get off your sled and follow the path forward. Climb over the wall ahead, activate the Mystical Heirloom, and awaken the final Troll.
