“Increased Contraband Prices” mod increases the value of illicit goods to increase their profitability. It increases the base price of illicit products by x2, x5, or x10, providing players with a large financial incentive to trade in unlawful commodities.
To install the “Increased Contraband Prices – x2 x5 x10” mod in Starfield, follow these simple steps:
- First, download the “Increased Contraband Prices – x2 x5 x10” mod from the Nexus site. (You might need to create an account if you don’t have one).
- After downloading the mod file, you’ll need to paste the ‘IncreasedContrabandPrices.esp’ file into the Data folder of the Starfield game directory.

Local Disk (C:) > Users > Documents > My Games > Starfield
Starfield location (Steam):
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\
Note: You’ll have to overwrite the files in case of any duplicate files.
- Now, download the ‘StarfieldCustom.ini’ file, which can be found in the ‘Misc’ folder.
- Move the ‘StarfieldCustom.ini’ file to the ‘Starfield’ directory.
- If you already have the ‘StarfieldCustom.ini’ file, simply add the following lines to it.

Note: If you have multiple .esp mods and want to load this mod as, for example, the third mod, you can change the number accordingly, such as sTestFile3=IncreasedContrabandPrices.esp. The number represents the load order of the mod, ranging 1 to 10.
Alternatively, you can also auto-install the mod by using Vortex mod manager.
