To install the ‘Native AutoHDR and Color Banding Fix’ mod in Starfield, follow these steps based on your loader preference:
The “Native AutoHDR and Colour Banding Fix” mod improves the visual quality of Starfield by upgrading rendering targets to higher precision formats and minimising colour banding. For a better in-game experience, it also supports HDR users and offers tone mapping choices with ReShade shaders.
For SFSE Loader:
- First, install the “Starfield Script Extender” (SFSE) if you haven’t already.
- Now, download the Native AutoHDR and Color Banding Fix mod from the Nexus site. (You might need to create an account if you don’t have one).
- After that place the “NativeHDR.dll” and “NativeHDR.toml” files inside the game directory.
Starfield location:
Local Disk (C:) > Users > Documents > My Games > Starfield > Data > SFSE > Plugins
Starfield location (Steam):
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\Data\SFSE\Plugins
Note: You’ll have to overwrite the files in case of any duplicate files.
For Ultimate ASI Loader:
- First, install the “Ultimate ASI Loader” if you haven’t already.
- After that, place the “NativeHDR.asi” and “NativeHDR.toml” files inside the game’s root directory.
