How to Install ‘Starfield Graphics Optimization – Custom Presets for FPS Performance’ Mod in Starfield

Starfield Graphics Optimisation” optimises the Ultra preset to improve game performance without sacrificing graphics quality. It improves FPS, especially in cities, making for a more fluid gameplay experience.

To install the ‘Starfield Graphics Optimization – Custom Presets for FPS Performance’ mod in Starfield, follow these simple steps:

Before making any changes, ensure you backup your existing “ultra.ini” preset located in the Starfield game folder. 

  • Now, download the ‘Starfield Graphics Optimization – Custom Presets for FPS Performance’ mod from the Nexus site. (You might need to create an account if you don’t have one).
  • After downloading the mod file, you’ll need to paste the latest ‘ultra.ini’ file into the Starfield game directory replacing the original “ultra.ini”.

Starfield location:

Local Disk (C:) > Users > Documents > My Games > Starfield 

Starfield location (Steam):

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\

Note: You’ll have to overwrite the files in case of any duplicate files.

When you are in the game, go to the graphics settings, locate the preset slider and switch it from “Low” (or any other setting) back to “Ultra”.

Alternatively, you can also auto-install the mod by using Vortex mod manager.

That’s it! Your mod is now installed. You can try it out by launching the game.
