Ark Genesis Part 1 is the fourth expansion pack for ARK: Survival Evolved. Part 2 is set to release by March,2021.
This game introduces a new story oriented and mission-based gameplay in the series. There is an exclusive in game AI robotic companion called HLN-A. The player wakes up within a simulated world spread across 5 distinct biomes in the form of mini maps which are Bog, Volcanic, Ocean, Arctic, and Luna. Players can teleport between these areas.
Several unique environmental features introduced in the game include a water biome, a volcanic hellscape that rains fire from the sky, an alien moon with low gravity and solar rays which kill the person if exposed to them. The game has frequent avalanches and blizzards. Another feature is that you can now find glitches in the map and by fixing these glitches, you can earn the in-game currency called the hexagons. Hexagons can also be earned by completing missions.
In addition to this, there are several new creatures introduced in the game, ranging from Astrocetus wandering space, the always on the look Bloodstalker, Ferox and Megachelon. Some creatures act differently in different biome Furthermore, there is a completely new type of creatures called X-creature wandering across a specific biome. These creatures have unique skin patterns and are specific to each biome.
There are 176 new missions across the five mini maps of the game and completing these missions earns you hexagons. Each mission has an alpha, beta and gamma difficulty level. Many of the Mission titles are references to things like movies and songs. Missions can be repeated as often as you like but you will earn significantly fewer Hexagons if the same mission is repeated at the same difficulty level.
Some other notable differences from the previous installments include the huge focus on oceans, introduction of an area with low gravity, an underwater boss, inclusion of a tame that can go unharmed in lava. Some Features like the inclusion of one large map, boss holograms, obelisks have been removed
Genesis also includes a new category of Bosses which are called the Master AI. They are used to control the maps and there are a total of 5 Master AI but 4 of the 5 are turned off and only Moeder is active as she was smart enough to shut herself down to avoid being turned off.
