Description

Luigi’s Mansion 3 is an action-adventure game developed by Next Level Games. It is the third entry in the Luigi’s Mansion series and is the successor to  Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. The game is played using a fixed third person perspective.

Luigi and his family are invited by a character named Hellen to her high-end luxury hotel of the last resort. He decides to take his brother Mario, Princess Peach and a group of toads to a vacation in the hotel. One night as he is sleeping with his pet dog Polterpup, Luigi suddenly wakes up to find the hotel transformed into a haunted building and all his friends missing. He soon finds out that the whole plot was designed by King Boo as Luigi’s role in his imprisonment didn’t bode well with him. With Polterpup by his side, Luigi manages to escape to the basement of the hotel and finds a Poltergust model G-00.

He then goes to the lobby and finds Professor E. Gadd entrapped. He uses his Dark light bulb to free the professor who then sets up a portable lab in the garage of the hotel. The professor gives Luigi two new gadgets including a communicating device called the Virtual Boo and  Gooigi, a doppelganger of Luigi made of goo. Luigi then starts his search for his family and friends by visiting each of the hotel’s seventeen floors. Each floor has a different theme and atmosphere and Luigi comes across a variety of different ghosts as he wanders the hotel. He is finally able to rescue the toads from their Portraits and this angers Hellen, the hotel’s owner who aided King Boo in the abductions. After a confrontation with her, Luigi is able to capture her and free his brother, Mario. Mario then guides him to Princess Peach’s Portrait.

After rescuing Princess Peach, Luigi along with others encounter King Boo who is able to recapture everyone again except Luigi and Polterpup. Luigi and King Boo then face off in a final Battle. Luigi is able to defeat King Boo and recover his group moments before the hotel collapses into the ground. King Boo is again imprisoned along with his partner in crime Hellen.

The game features a single player story mode and several updated multiplayer modes. The ghost catching works in the same way as in the previous installment allowing you to stun them with a flashlight, snag them with the Poltergust and then weaken their health to capture them. The game features a refreshing yet familiar storyline, updated graphics, smooth gameplay and an awesome soundtrack. All these features make this game a great addition to the Luigi Series.
