Mortal Kombat X is a fighting video game developed and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game is the tenth main installment in the Mortal Kombat series and a sequel to the 2011 game Mortal Kombat. The game can be played in single player and multiplayer modes (Locally and Online)
With a catalogue of 30 plus characters to choose from, Mortal Kombat X is a fighting game in which two characters fight against each other. You can play against other players or against the CPU. You can use your environment to your advantage and use available objects as weapons. The game features stage brutalities which are finishing moves triggered when certain environment interactions are used to finish off an opponent.
The game offers several modes to choose from based on your preference. For single player, It offers a story mode that takes place 25 years after the last game and a ‘Player vs Player’ mode. In addition to that, a ‘Living Towers’ mode where the play conditions change is also available. Multiplayer online modes include King of the Hill, 1 vs 1 and Test your luck. A new mode called Faction Wars has also been introduced which lets you choose a faction from five available factions and compete online representing that faction. Faction specific finishers are unlocked if your faction wins a competition. There is also a Krypt mode which is played using first person perspective and involves exploring the game world to unlock several items.
The energy meter this time around is divided into three sections and can be used to perform X-ray moves, breaking combos or enhanced special moves. In addition to that, the game also features a stamina meter. Each of the characters in the game has three different variations with different sets of moves. The characteristic Mortal Kombat brutal finishers also make a comeback in this version. In addition to the usual moves, this version has two new types of moves called Quitality and Faction Kills. Quitality instantly kills your character if you rage quit and Faction kills are finishing moves based on the games five featured factions.
The game is very well optimized specially for controllers and the gameplay is smooth, balanced and optimized. Various features that Mortal Kombat has been known for have been further refined and a lot of great new features have been introduced making this a great addition to the franchise.
