Description
Scrap Mechanic is a multiplayer survival sandbox video game developed by Axolot Games.
In the game, you assume the role of a robot maintenance mechanic on his way to a planet that has a fully automated farming and agricultural system and supplies food to all the metropolitan planets. Your job is to manage the robots responsible for this automated system. But during reentry into that planet, something goes wrong and you end up crash-landing. Barely surviving, you notice things aren’t exactly the way they are supposed to be. The robots have gone rogue. Instead of growing crops, they are smashing them and they are destroying everything that isn’t a robot. Your job is to work together with other players to build a sustainable life on the planet.
The game features three modes to choose from: Survival Mode, Challenge Mode and Creative Mode.
The Challenger mode features 40 different levels and you have to construct or repair contraptions using the tools you are provided in the game. In Creative Mode, you have complete creative freedom. With no bots or enemies to run from, you can construct walking buildings, machine and transformative vehicles using a collection of more than 400 tools. From refining raw materials to turning raw food into recipes and making clothes, the options are endless. You have access to a large warehouse that stores all the advanced supplies and the Trader’s post, where you can purchase different items using your harvested resources. In Survival mode, you start off at the Craftbot, the crashed spaceship’s crafting station that has a very limited functionality. You build a bare-bones vehicle to start exploring the planet and you have to scavenge all the available objects and take them to the Mechanic Station. It is here that you can craft the most complex items. The planet is home to some of the most vicious robots, including Totebots, Tapebots, Haybots and Farmbots and they will try to stop you on every step of the way. The player has access to different supply crates and chests filled with loot. In addition to that, you can also find a merchant to exchange fruits and vegetables with guns and clothing. The game also officially supports mods which open up a new world of customizations.
