Description

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is the eighth expansion pack for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft. 

The DLC follows the events of the Battle for Azeroth. After the defeat of N’Zoth, Sylvanas travels to Icecrown Citadel to confront the reigning king Bolvar Fordragon. After taking the king’s Helm of Domination from him, Sylvanas tears it in half. This leads to the shattering of the veil between realities and opening of a portal to the Shadowlands. This afterworld contains a place called the Maw which is reserved for the most sinful souls. However it starts absorbing all souls due to a malfunction in the Shadowlands. Sylvanas orders to abduct the Alliance and the Horde leaders but thanks to the Night Warrior, Tyrande manages to escape his abduction. In the meanwhile, there is a confirmed sighting of the Nathanos Blightcaller. Tyrande overpowers him with the help of the night warrior and slays him as justice for burning Teldrassil.  

After regaining strength from his battle with Sylvanas, Bolvar gathers Azertoth’s Forces to storm the shadowlands to save the abducted leaders. On the other hand, Tyrande also enters the portal in pursuit of Sylvanas. When they arrive in the Maw, they are diverted to the heart of Maw which is an unescapable zone where only the most sinful souls are trapped forever. The champions find the missing leaders and successfully escape the Maw. 

Shadowland features the city of Oribos as the central hub and includes five major zones including Ardenweald, Maldraxxus, Revendreth, Bastion and the Maw. The game also features four new dungeons for levelling in addition to the four at maximum level. Furthermore, there is an endless dungeon called Torghast, Tower of the Damned. The game introduces a completely new levelling system that involves a level reduction. The players at level 120 are reduced to level 50 and level 60 is the new Level cap. The game begins on an island known as the Exile’s Reach which introduces the players to the game. New players then proceed to play the Battle for Azeroth while established veterans go on to unlock the Shadowlands.
