First, you have to wander around in Saint Denis.

A French guy carries his dead wife.
A French guy puts wife on the nearest horse.
Where does he go? You have to follow him.
He bumps into a trolly and wife falls off.
He rides away leaving his dead wife.
You will need to carry wife corpse.
Carrying dead body = murder suspect.
The witness will report to the police.
Once a crime is reported, you are wanted.
High crime means a lots of cops appear.
Now you have to throw the body down.
And leave the red area in the mini map.
Cops disband if you leave the red area.
On slow water, the escape is nearly impossible.
You have to hide beneath the pier.
It is a safe spot, but do the cops leave?
After a long time, the cops start leaving.
If you don't leave, the cops eventually leave.
Confirmed cops do leave eventually.
Now you have to look for a cop.
There’s a red icon in the mini-map.
You are still wanted.
After that, find a post office.
Go to the post office.
Pay bounty.
You have to find a cop again.
No longer wanted.
