He was a 3rd century Christian martyr and saint.
He's the patron saint of this city and Saint Denis was named after him.
Much like Kieran Saint Denis of Paris was decapitated, legend says that Saint Denis of Paris carried his head for miles.
Until he reached his chosen burial site.
Kieran's Death was inspired by this legend.
Kieran also carried his head all the way to his burial site.

Saint Denis of Paris was persecuted for his beliefs.
It's a cool parallel to Kieran's arc in the game, where he was constantly harassed for being an O'driscoll.
