How to Beat "Divine Dragon" Boss Battle - Sekiro

Boss Fight Tips

Combat Tip 1: To deal damage, use lightning Reversal.

You can only hurt the Divine Dragon by repelling his thunder.

Surrounding the dragon location, the lightning will strike a tree.

Repel the lighting while in the air back to the dragon because jumping onto the electrified tree will trigger a lightning strike.

Combat Tip 2: Until lightning strikes, stay off the Trees.

If you are on a tree and it is not electrified, lightning will strike you.

Combat Tip 3: During Lightning Reversal, lock on the Dragon.

When using certain actions including grapple hooks, your lock on the divine dragon may be negated.

To make sure your lightning connects, be sure to lock onto the Dragon again.

Combat Tip 4: Once trees Disappear, focus on Dodging.

All trees surrounding it will disappear, once you take down 80% of the Dragon's health.

Focus on evading the Dragon's attacks until the tree will respawn after a few moments.

Notable Attacks

Notable Attack 1; Double side swipe.

Dragon releases two shockwaves.

Instead of dashing or step dodging, try jumping over these shockwaves.

In most cases, avoiding a shockwave attack is as easy as jumping to your left or right.

Notable Attack 2: Gust of Wind.

When the dragon is 80% or you are too close, it unleashes a gust of wind that knocks you back.

This attack does not do any damage but it can cause your lightning Reversal to fail.

If you touch the ground when this happens, you'll be struck by lightning.
