How to Beat "Genichiro Ashina" Boss Battle - Sekiro
Boss Fight Tips
1st Combat tip:
Try to block the enemy's arrow shots.
Jump multi-shots and charge shots are the 2 types of arrow shots.
Both of which are difficult to avoid and will not harm Genichiro’s posture even if they are parried.
However, these shots are followed by more feeble ones. Try guarding them even if it chips at your posture.
2nd Combat tip:
In the 2nd health node, new moves.
Gen ichiro will follow up with a perilous attack, after a vertical cut attack.
On 1st health node, he will thrust attack and will side slash on 2nd node.
To evade both of these attacks, jump away to create distance.
3rd Combat tip:
On the way to the tomee phase, use lightning reversal.
To attack you on his way to tomoe phase, Genichiro will summon lightning.
R1 white jumping to use lightning reversal. This will stun him momentarily and deal high damage.
Notable attacks
1st notable attack:
Vertical cut + combo [!].
He will follow up with a thrust, on his 1st node. The Mikiri counter is a viable method.
He can also chain to a side swipe, on his 2nd node. Jump to dodge his slice.
2nd notable attack:
Lunge > Thrust Attack [!] (used in 2nd phase).
It is relatively easy to dodge and has a distinct motion. You can also aim for Mikiri Counter.
3rd notable attack:
Lighting attack (sword or arrow) [!].
Both moves are easily dodgeable and have distinct effects. To counter his attacks, use the lightning reversal.
Prioritize dodging instead, if you can’t time the hit.
