There's a hut in the middle of an open field, where an old man is. You have to visit him and read his diary to learn the recipe you need to get his warm doublet.

To get meat, you must kill a boar. Boars are found in the forest of spirits.

Hyrule bass can be found in lakes and ponds.

To get the doublet, cook meat and seafood in the cooking pot by the hut. Telling the old guy you "cooked something" will get you the reward.
