How to Solve the Viking Mystery in Red Dead Redemption 2?

If you travel here, you'll find a point of interest called the Old Tomb.

The design of this place is based on a real life structure named America's Stonehenge. There are three viking items that you can collect here.

Viking Helmet.

Ancient viking comb.

And the viking hatchet.

At first glimpse, it looks like the tomb is filled with viking remains, but that's not exactly correct.

Let's take a look at the old world scripts, which you can find here.

The writing in the middle translates to this, We arrived by boat, Beautiful land, Gracious people so we left them to live in peale, While it's true that the vikings arrived here and met the natives, the part about peace is not entirely true.

Because it doesn't explain the bodies and viking items in the tomb. Also vikings didn't build tombs, and this isn't a viking skull but skull of their victim since it has a viking hatchet embedded in it.

Now let's take a look at the other writing on the viking rune, if you read it carefully it looks like a poem of some sort. The symbols look like a mix of elder and younger futhark with little x5 and dots separating stanzas.

Each symbol is a word not a letter, it translates to this. There was sun and plenty of ice, Ice thrived for too long, so the sun waged war against it, The sun uses rain to melt the ice, but the ice stays strong.

Tyr (God of war) grows wealthy as the sun-ice war continues.the rain is slowly killing the ice, an estuary forms meaning that the ice is melting. The ice needs cold since it's turning into water, the sun is winning.ice dies without ice, mankind has a good harvest ice melts and evaporates.

It look like a story of what happned when the vikings arrived. The vikings (Sun) waged war against the natives (Ice), killed them and took the loot (good Harvest), a theorized that America's Stonehenge was built by natives.

Also it's most likely the old tomb in RDR2 was built by them too, and the vikings left their remains there after killig them.
