This Miniature Ethernet Cable Fad Raises so Many Questions

This cable fad raises many questions.

It began on the ubiquiti subreddit.

Reddit users are competing to make the world’s shortest ethernet cable.

They highlight some of the impressive entries in their tweet.

The shortest comes in at a minuscule 13mm.

They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could they didn’t stop to think if they should.

The 13mm connector does work.

The question has been raised, if it is too tiny to connect any two known devices.

They said that they don’t meet the spec so none of these are technically Ether cables.

In the specification there is a minimum length of 18”.

I don’t know if I want to use these connectors.
