The inspiration for joker was the gentlemen thief trope, particularly the character arsene lupin.

Bear & Roadrunner

Banjo is clearly supposed to be bear, Kazooie is part of the fictional 'Breegull' species which resembles real life roadrunners.

Ramen Bowl

Min min hair resembles noodles and she sports a beanie hat resembling a ramen bowl.

Yukio Mishima

Kazuya was modeled after author Yukio Mishima, with whom he shares his last name.
