This guide will let you know why you shouldn’t use the Lifepod as a Starting point in Subnautica.
There are a ton of different places you can use as a starting point to start from before heading out to certain places.
Now one of the easiest spots to start from is the lifepod, which can be a good spot. But it can also be a bad spot at the same depending on where your lifepod is.
Each time you start your game your lifepod will most likely be in a different spot each save, Sometimes it could be a slight difference like being a little more to the left than your last lifepod being near/facing the back of the aurora in one save and then in the next save it could be facing the side/middle of the aurora.
Using the lifepod as your starting point can sometimes mess you up, depending on where it is compared to another person’s lifepod who you may be following directions. So it’s better to use a fixed spot like the coral tube that sticks up out of the water. Anyone can find it in the same spot every save, in every game so it’s a more reliable spot since it doesn’t randomly move around depending on saves.
Lifepod was in a different spot/had different coordinates,
1st save: (-21.6, 5.8, -43.2
2nd save: (-149.1, 5.8, -270.3)
3rd save: (-23.6, 1.9, 116.2)
4th save: (-28.2, 1.9, -300.7)
The lifepod can be Inconsistent and in some cases lead people the wrong way especially If their lifepod wasn’t anywhere near the same spot mine was in.
