This guide will let you know five things you didn’t know about the Endermite in Minecraft.
Purple Silverfish
Endermites look very similar to purple silverfish. Their model has changed over time and now matches the current in-game version.
Despawn Within 2 Minutes
Endermites will always despawn within two minutes after spawning, no matter how far away the player is. This despawn timer does not apply if the endermite is named using a name tag.
Ender Pearl Spawn Chance
Every time you use an ender pearl, there is a 5% chance that an endermite will spawn at the landing location.
Similar Names, Not Friends
Despite their similar names, endermen and endermites are not allies. Endermen will actively attack and try to kill endermites that spawn from ender pearls.
Endermites Can Suffocate
Like silverfish, endermites can suffocate on certain blocks such as soul sand. The slight sinking effect of soul sand is enough to partially cover their body and cause suffocation.
