Final Fantasy fans have been cosplaying characters from Final Fantasy XV for over 10 years, ever since its first announcement in 2006. It’s been a super long wait filled with rumors and surprises that we’ve followed closely.
So to go along with our timeline, here are 15 epic FFXV cosplays by fans who not only nailed the look but also captured the charm. One of these cosplayers even made major contributions to the game’s animation and took his cosplay to the next level.

Father and Son Dinner

This impressive cosplay recreates one of the most adorable moments from the FFXV trailers. During a meal, we get a glimpse of Noctis as a child spending time with his father, King Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII. To our surprise, after mentoring his son, King Regis shows a playful side.

Stella Nox Fleuret Stealing the Show

Ah, Stella. Even though you’re no longer the leading lady, fans still show you plenty of love.
“Lord Noctis, can you see the light?”
Stella’s famous line from her 2008 Tokyo Game Show introduction.

Replacing Stella didn’t sit well with fans, and many were upset when she was swapped out for Luna.
-
Lightning & Noctis Crossover

Many fans expected to see Lightning and Noctis cross paths, whether clashing blades or sharing a moment. These cosplayers did a great job capturing a sweet crossover scene.
-
Star-Crossed Lovers Stella & Noctis

It’s hard to say whether fans prefer Stella & Noctis or Lightning & Noctis, and then there’s Luna. Either way, Noctis has no shortage of romance. Stella, however, was removed by Square Enix, yet still holds a larger fan base than her replacement. There’s always a chance she could still appear in the game.

Guess who’s back?
Meet Aranea Highwind, the Dragoon Lady. First introduced during Final Fantasy Versus XIII marketing, she returns in Final Fantasy XV as a commander in the Niflheim military, officially leading the empire’s 87th airborne unit. Known for her strength and aerial combat skills, she earned the title “the dragoon.”
One popular theory suggests Stella may still exist in the game under a new identity, complete with a makeover and name change. Hopefully, we’ll learn the truth on March 30th during the Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event.

Young & Teen Noctis

One of the most adorable brother duos, Dat-Baka and his little brother Bill perfectly captured Noctis from the E3 2013 trailer.
“The cruel world will take the smile of an innocent child and bend it into the sarcastic smirk of a man who has seen it all.”
-
Young Noctis E3 2013

One of the cutest cosplays on our list, and we tip our hats to the editor for getting the soup color just right.
“But you mustn’t say so, lest the cook be sent away.”

That poor child. Can we really blame him for not wanting to eat that? Not with those puppy-dog eyes.
-
Cindy Can Fix That

Added to balance the all-male cast, Cindy stands out, and Caelynx did a great job keeping her sexy yet classy.
Cindy was almost too sexy for Final Fantasy XV, but the development team made adjustments. Now we’ll see if the final version holds up as well as Caelynx’s cosplay.

Lightning & Noctis Selfie

Many fans remember early trailers from 2006 showing scenes shifting between Lightning and Noctis, creating high expectations for a darker Final Fantasy. While Versus XIII was delayed, Square Enix kept fans busy with sequels, spin-offs, and re-releases across multiple platforms. It’s safe to say the wait was packed with content.
