All 7 Secret Troll Fight Locations – God of War Ragnarok

God of War: Ragnarok features multiple bosses and deities to fight and prove your mettle. For experienced campaigners, this is a guide to the locations of the seven secret Trolls you can challenge. Boss fights test players’ skills to the limit, allowing them to sharpen and refine their combat skills. These boss fights are unlocked by acquiring an Heirloom that awakens the trolls.

Heirloom Location

The Mystical Heirloom is located in the Midgard realm. Go to the Lake of Nine and then place the mystical gateway on your left; travel right across the frozen lake and towards a wall on the right side. The wall mentioned above will be shimmering yellow, and Kratos has to throw his Draupnir Spear through the wall. Exploding the spear will open up the path through the wall. Continue this new path by jumping over the barrier; the mystical heirloom should be on the left. Pick it up, and then you can test your skills by fighting Trolls.

Throw your spear into the wall and explode it to open a path to the Mystical Heirloom

1st Troll (Blóðugr Steinn)

The first secret location is located in the Midgard realm. Go to the Derelict Outpost via the Mystical Gateway. Straight ahead of the Gateway, there should be a chain hanging. Climb the chain and reach the entrance of the Derelict Outpost. Continuing down this path, an enclosed platform will be on your left. Swing across the gap to reach the platform and turn right; another platform will be in front of you. Swing again to reach this platform, and there will be a purple orb enemy which you have to fight. Upon defeating it, you will find the troll on your left. Awaken it by selecting the relic and pressing L1+O on your PS controller.

2nd Troll (Vísi Haglkorn)

Master and hone your combat skills by fighting Trolls

The 2nd troll is also located in Midgard. Upon returning from the Derelict Outpost, get to your dog-sledge. Return to the frozen lake and turn right upon reaching the frozen lake. Continue going straight until you can spot a path climbing on the right towards the mountain. Take this path and continue until the obstacle stops your dog-sledge from advancing. Climb over the obstacle and go straight toward the top of the mountain, where you can see the ice troll, Vísi Haglkorn, kneeling and praying. Go closer, and the combat begins.

3rd & 4th Troll (Gölráb of the Frost & Gölráb of the Ashes)

The 3rd and 4th trolls are located in the Vanheim realm. Use the mystical gateway to go to Freyr’s Camp, it is recommended to go during the day as a log blocks the river during nighttime. If you arrive at night, a Celestial Altar will be on the left near the Mystical Gateway in Freyr’s camp. Use it to turn the night into day. Straight from the Mystical Gateway, a boat should be on the river. Get on the boat and go left. Stick to the left and follow the river. After a few minutes, you’ll come across a large expanse of water. Keep left and go straight towards Noatun’s Garden. Upon landing, go straight toward the wall and activate the relic. Two trolls should emerge out of the clearing. Good luck defeating them.

Press L1+O to activate the relic and awaken the trolls

5th Troll (Brenna Banamaðr)

This fire troll is in Vanaheim; you can use the Mystical Gateway to go to the Crater Entrance. To the right of the mystical gateway, there should be a wall with Norse inscriptions. Climb over the wall and land on the other side. Go straight for 30-40 yards; the troll should be on the right. If he isn’t there, go across the river and kill the Untamed Fury, as defeating her will make the Troll spawn. During the fight, enemies like The Crimson Dread may join the fight to defeat you, so ensure you’re well-equipped to take on this troll.

Be prepared, as this fire troll is extremely nasty

6th Troll (Miklimunnr)

The fifth troll is in Svartalfheim; make your way to the Aurvangar Wetlands and use the ferry to reach the Applecore Descent. If you can’t use the ferry, try completing the game, and you can then use the ferry. If that isn’t possible, try doing the Funeral sidequest, which will bring you to the Applecore Descent. From the Mystical Gateway, turn left and follow the path. Stick to your left, and you’ll see an opening going down. Go a bit down and turn right. There should be a wall with Norse inscriptions in front of you. Stick your spear to the left of the wall and use it to climb over it.

Thrust your spear into the wall to climb over the wall

Once you’re over the wall, continue going until you find a straight path and one towards the left. Take a left and continue along the path until there’s a wall straight ahead. There should be an open space to your right. Swing over to get across the bridge, and you’ll be on a ledge with Norse inscriptions. Climb this ledge, and you’ll head into a tunnel. The tunnel ends with a chain hanging over its side, descending to an enclosed space below. There will be a single large door in this enclosed space, and the Troll is behind the door. The door will fall as soon as you land, and the troll will emerge.

7th Troll (Bjarg Stormr)

The last troll is located in the Alfheim realm. Travel to The Hjarta via the Mystic Gateway. With the Mystic Gateway on your right, climb on your sled and take the tunnel on the right. Continue going along the tunnel until you exit the tunnel and come to the clearing. Upon entering the clearing, take a left, and you’ll come across a blue puddle with bubbles. Take a slight right from the puddle and go straight until you reach the second blue puddle. Continue along the trajectory of the second puddle until you’ll see the third blue puddle. Get off your sled; a path from the third puddle should lead forward. Continue on this path, and you’ll come across a wall. Climb over the wall and go forward a couple of yards. Select the mystical heirloom, activate it, and the last troll should awaken.

Follow the blue puddles to find the path that leads to the Troll

That’s all from this Secret Troll location guide. Remember to be well-equipped to fight these mythical trolls.
