To start with, the weapon combination that is recommended is the beam rifle and the hunting pistol.
The reason this combination is so good is that if you use the beam rifle or rune rifle, you can spray down bosses or mini-bosses and get them incredibly low on their health. Then switch to your hunting pistol and kill them. In addition, the beam rifle and the rune rifle can both just spray down enemies that have a little bit of health. Once you’ve sprayed down all the enemies, you can switch to your hunting rifle. 
You can kill a boss or just an enemy that has a high amount of health and 9 out of 10 times, the hunting pistol will kill the mini-boss or the high-health enemy in one shot. The hunting pistol does a ton of damage. This combination is a really powerful and solid choice for a primary and secondary weapon.
The second combination that you can use is the Defiler and the Devastator, you can use any sort of like sniper or just a one-shot weapon that only has one bullet and does a ton of damage. Then use Defiler because it’s like a shotgun and it will deal a ton of damage.
Therefore what you can do is just use your super high-powered weapon to take down the bigger enemies and then just switch to your shotgun if an enemy gets up close. The Defiler should just take care of them because it just shreds through enemies. So it’s a perfect combination where you’re just going to be using way less ammo than you would with any other build.
The last combo is the particle accelerator and then pairing that with a submachine gun or the fire submachine gun makes it more powerful. Therefore having a high-fire rate weapon as your secondary and then a hunting rifle type of weapon as your primary can deal good shots and headshots, as well also with range combat it’s a perfect combination. Therefore you have to use the hunting rifle at range so you can get easy headshots. Then you use the submachine gun to mow down enemies if they get close. With this combination, you can progress through the game pretty easily.
