The Calcine Disruptor trades utility for explosive aoe Electric damage that takes four shots to kill a spartan.
Shooting any surface will cause an area of effect damage to anyone around, dealing half shield/health damage.
You can even kill spartans just from the explosions.
The Regular disruptor does have three more bullets in the magazine and is more about utility; the Calcine Disruptor is more about destruction.
