How to Change the Auto Targeting for Healing – New World

This guide will let you know how to change Auto Targeting for Healing in the New World. Go through the guide and follow all the steps to change it. 

When you press a healing button, it will select who is in front of you or near you, and if you click the centre mouse button, you can angle the heal wherever you want in the game, as shown in the image below. 

If you are trying to angle the single target heal, you have to aim at him first and press the centre button of the mouse. Then you can target the specific person which you want to heal.

If you want to use the beacon heals, you have to aim your player forward and then shoot it without any worry about the targeting for the ability. If you are on sacred ground or doing the single target heal, they are auto-focused for the main part, and you can change that. 

You have to go to the game settings, click on the Key Bindings tab on the left, and then navigate to the Life Staff Combat section. You will see that Life staff combat has a target self button and an exit auto-target button, which is your mouse center button. And if you use the mouse up and down on people around, you will cycle the healing between all players. 

As shown in the image below, it doesn’t go in a particular order that will confuse you when targeting someone. 

After that, you have to go back to the settings, click on the Gameplay tab, scroll down, and navigate targeted healing. If you turn it off, it will be difficult for you with a single target heal because you will have to aim it at the floor. The other gameplay options will allow you the camera lock or free cam. When you target the game, the camera focuses on them, and you can also change the healing group there in the last option.

So you have to make sure to turn off the group mode which is located in the last of all the options, because in group mode when you are in any group, and there you can only heal the people who are already in your group and cannot select and heal other people in the faction as shown in the image below.  

If you turn off the auto-targeting, then when you cast a heal, it will be open in free form, which is very useful in the sacred ground. For beacon heal, it is very beneficial, and for the divine, it is not very helpful because you have to aim at people’s feet which is very hard to do because they are constantly moving and don’t stop, as shown in the image below.
