This guide will show you how to download & install game updates in RPCS3. You will also learn how to remove the installed updates.
Install Game Updates
In this section, we will take you through the steps to install game updates in RPCS3. The steps include copying the game’s serial number, accessing the RPCS3 discord server and using the command to request the updated file.
- You need to start by launching the RPCS3 emulator on your system and find the game you want to update.
- Once you have located the game, right-click on it. After that, click on Copy Info and then select Copy Serial.
- After that, go to the RPCS3 discord server.
- Once you are in the RPCS3 discord server, look for the channel called “bot-spam” and click on it.
- You need to type the command “! psn check update (Game’s Serial Number)“.
Replace “Game’s Serial Number” with the actual serial number of the game you want to check for updates.
The bot will send you the updated file.
- You just need to download that file. After that, click and hold the downloaded file with your mouse, then drag it over to the RPCS3 interface.
When you release the mouse button, RPCS3 will display a prompt asking if you want to add the file. - You have to press the “Yes” button to confirm the action.
It will update your game.
Some games have multiple update files, so you have to install all of the updates one by one.
Remove Game Updates
The section describes how to remove game updates in RPCS3. By following the steps below, you will be able to access the View tab and click on the Remove option to uninstall the game update.
- To uninstall the updates, ensure that the RPCS3 interface is set to the list view.
- Locate the View tab in the RPCS3 interface and click on it. After that, click on Game Categories and turn on Game Data.
- After enabling the Game Data option, go back to the RPCS3 interface, locate the game update/game data option in the list and click on it.
- Head over to Remove to remove your game update.
