When you get to the island, you’ll be introduced to Leo and his parrot. And this parrot is going to be crucial throughout as you can come back to the parrot whenever you want and ask the parrot for hints.
The parrot will give you a general hint of every day where are the undiscovered walnuts. So if it’s five walnuts in the western part of the island and you find one of them, then the next time you go back to the parrot, he’ll say four walnuts.
Another important thing to note is there is a specific number of walnuts and no respawns and every walnut that you can see has a path to it somewhere. The game will first head you to the volcano mines and you’ll get a lot of early walnuts from killing enemies.
You will also get golden walnuts by destroying volcano mine devices.
You can mine volcano rocks to find golden walnuts.
And then looting the volcano chests.
Now if you come back the next day, the chest will have a different reward in it.
In addition to mining the rocks in the volcano, you can also mine the mussel rocks just south of your island farm and it is going to yield you five more mining-related walnuts.
In addition to killing enemies in the mines, you can also kill these slimes in the western area of the map and they will drop walnuts as well.
You can collect five walnuts from fishing in deep water and if you find your very first golden coconut, then you have to run to town. Open a geode and your first golden coconut is guaranteed to have a walnut in it.
There are a ton of walnuts throughout the rest of the island. There will be puzzling shrine quests and events throughout the island.
Starting with this music memory you complete it and it will reward you with walnuts.
Next up, you can go to Birdie and start her quest which will reward you with 10 walnuts.
