1- First of all, you have to restart the game. If you have launched the game, you have to close it, then restart it and check the controller if it is working or not.
2- If your controller is still not working, then you have to restart your PC and check your controller.
3- Now you have to open Steam, go to the library, and then find the game. After finding the game, right-click on it and then click on the properties. Now you need to click on the controller tab, then select Disable Steam input and check the controller. If this does not help you, then go back and enable Steam input.
4- Also make sure that you have to close all the programs running in the background as they cause issues in the game launching. So before launching the game, close all the programs running in the background. You have to unplug all the devices plugged into your PC. You can also checkmark the Xbox extended feature support as it is for the elite controllers.
7- After that, go to the big picture mod by clicking on it on the top right side of your screen, and then go to the controller options to make sure that you are playing the game with global settings. After this, launch the game again and see if your issue is fixed. If still your issue is not resolved, then you have to come back to the controller option and try setting this to Forced OFF or set it to force On. Hopefully, it will fix your issue
