This guide will let you know how to fix crashes, freezes, and instability in Dying Light 2. You have to follow all the instructions carefully to fix them.
First, you will need to ensure that you have an updated PC and your Windows is fully up to date. You also need to restart your system and verify the game files. To do so, you have to open Steam, and find the Dying Light 2 game, right-click on it and select the properties option, as shown in the image below.
After that, tap on the local files option from the left menu, and then you need to click on the verify integrity of game files option. If you are using the epic game launcher, you have to open it and click on the more options icon next to Dying Light 2. Then click on games under the Ubisoft connect option, then you have to select Dying Light 2 and click on properties, and there you have to click on the verify option under local file.
If the error remains, you must launch the game with a specific “no light fx” argument. To do so, go to the game launcher, then you have to find and right-click on the game, select the properties option, and that over to the general tab from the left menu. Now go to the launch option section, and there you have to type “/nolightfx”, as shown in the image below.
If you are not using steam, you have to go to your games folder. You have to open the ph folder, then go to the work folder, next bin, and there you have to click on x64 folder and navigate to dying light x64 or wdi.exe, right-click on it and select the create shortcut option as shown in the image below.
Now you need to cut and paste the shortcut file on your desktop. Now right, click on the game file from the desktop and select the Properties option. Tap over to the shortcut tab, and in the target, at the end of the quotation marks, you need to add space and enter “ /nolightfx ” then you have to press the apply button to save the settings and then click on the ok button, as shown in the image below.
If the error remains, you have to open your steam and navigate to the dying light two-game from the left menu, right-click on the game, select the manage option, and click on browse local files. You need to open the pdf folder in the game folder, go to the work folder, and click on the x64 folder. You have to right-click on the game file and select the Properties option. Tap over to the compatibility tab and enable running the program as an administrator option, as shown in the image below
Now click on the apply button to save the setting and click the OK button. Now launch the game from any shortcut, and you will see that your game is working.
If it doesn’t work, you have to go to the system documents folder, and there you have to open the dying light two folders and go to the out folder. Now you need to tap over to the settings folder, and there you will find a file video. SCR, so you have to right-click on it and select edit with the notepad option as shown in the image below.
Now you need to find renderer mode and change its settings from d3d12 to d3d11and then you have to save the file and close all the tabs. Now you have to run the game, and you will see that the issue is solved, as shown in the image below.
If you have an issue loading into the world, you must disable or enable vsync in the game’s graphics options. It would be best if you also tried lowering all of your graphic settings down because there will be an issue in ray tracing or else like that, causing the game to crash on your specific computer.
