How to Fix Steam Was Unable To Sync Your Files

In this guide, you will come to know how to fix the Steam Was Unable To Sync Your Files error. 

First, you will need to delete the user data folder to solve the error. You have to go to the start menu and launch the task manager application on your PC. There, you have to right click on the Steam application and end the task of the entire application. 

After that, open file explorer and head over to the Steam directory; you need to go to the program files folder and tap on the steam folder. You have to navigate to the user data folder, right-click on it and delete it. Once it is done, you have to restart your system and launch the steam app to fix the error. 

If the error remains the same, you have to repair your steam library folder. To do so, you will need to start your Steam app and go to the View tab on the top left side of the Steam. After that, open downloads and go to the steam library folder. You need to right-click on it from the text menu and go to the repair folder. 

Now you have to wait till Steam repairs the library folder, and once it is finished, you need to check if Steam starts syncing your files or not. You need to verify game files’ integrity because sometimes the error occurs due to corrupted game files. So you need to head back to your steam app, then you need to tap over to the library menu, then go to the games tab. 

After that, you need to select and right-click on the game, which is showing the error, and then you need to choose the properties option from the options menu. In the properties, you have to click on the local files option, then tap on the Verification process, and then you have to wait until it is finished. 

If the error remains the same, you need to disable the firewall and antivirus. You will need to disable the windows firewall, so go to the start menu, search for Windows firewall settings and open it.

After that, go to firewall settings and turn off the firewall option to fix the problem. 

If the error remains the same, you have to turn off the antivirus program on your system. To do so, you need to click on the antivirus icon from the taskbar and then choose to disable the virus protection option, which will resolve the problem. 

If the error remains the same, you must refresh the steam files. To do so,  you first need to open the task manager and find the steam processes, and then you need to click on it to end the tasks. After that, tap on your file explorer and navigate to the program files, then the steam folder. In the steam folder, you need to select all of the files and folders except the steam app folder, and then you have to delete all of the files and folders there. It will resolve the error.
