How to Fix The Controller Gamepad Not Working – Elden Ring

This guide will let you know how to fix the Controller/Gamepad Not Working in Elden Ring.

1- First, you have to open Steam and click on the Steam button on the top left of your screen. Right-click on it, then go to the properties and click on the controller on the left side of your screen. After that, click on the general controller settings.

There, you will find a lot of different options, you have to connect your controller to your system and you will find your controller under the detected controller. Then you have to checkmark the Xbox configuration support. In this list you will get the options for different controllers, you can select the option according to which controller are you using. You can also checkmark the Xbox extended feature support as this is for the elite controllers.

After that, go back to the steam library and then launch the Elden Ring, it will solve your issue. If still your issue is not solved, then you have to unplug the controller and plug it back in when you reach the main menu.

2- If still you are facing the issue, then you have to launch Steam in the big picture mod by clicking on the little screen icon on the top left side of your screen. After this, go to the library and then find the Elden Ring. Select it and then click on Manage game, you have to select the controller configuration on the right side of your screen. You need to make sure that your controller is set up properly.

After that, go back and navigate to the controller options to make sure that you are playing the game with global settings. After this, launch the game again and see if your issue is fixed. If still your issue is not resolved, then you have to come back to the controller option and then try setting this to Forced OFF or force On.

3- If your issue is still not solved, then you have to exit from the big screen and go back to the normal steam window. After that, right-click on the Elden Ring, then go to the properties and navigate to the controller on the left side of your screen. You need to change it from using default settings and set it to disable steam input or enable steam input to try both one by one. It will skip the remapping that Steam does to make it compatible with some games and then it will connect directly to your game. It will solve your issue.
