1- First of all, you have to restart the controller and your Pc. After this, launch the game and check if this fixed your issue or not.

You can also checkmark the Xbox extended feature support as this is for the elite controllers.
5- If still you are facing the issue then, then you have to launch steam in the big picture mod by clicking on the little screen icon on the top left side of your screen. After this, go to the library and then you have to find the Elden ring here. Select this then you have to click on manage game and then you have to select the controller configuration on the right side of your screen. here you have to make sure that your controller is set up properly.
After this, you have to go back and then you have to go to the controller options to make sure that you are playing the game with global settings. After this launch the game again and see if your issue is fixed. If still your issue is not resolved then you have to come back to the controller option and then you have to try setting this to Forced OFF or setting this to force On.
