To find a roommate, you will need to have a separate bed in your house and additional beds depending on the roommates you want to have in your home. You will need to find a friend and ask them to be your roommate from the household interaction section, as shown in the image below.
The following method to get roommates is to use your Sim’s phone or a household section on your computer, and there you have to advertise for roommates. Once you do it, the interested roommates will start visiting your place. You can screen them by asking hobbies and intrusive questions like what they do for a living.
When you find your roommate, you have to click on the option “accept as a roommate” and then assign a bed to the roommate. You can also lock the doors for the rooms if you don’t want to give access to your roommates, like your bedroom, where you can restrict your roommates with locking doors.
Your roommates also need access to amenities to care for themselves, like bathroom, kitchen, etc. If you don’t give them access, they will move out. Roommates are not playable as they will come and go from your house and have their work to do, so when you get a new roommate, you have to observe how they act and their new traits, as shown in the image below.
If you don’t like the roommate, you have to ask them to leave your place. You can find this option under household interactions.
