This guide will tell you how to install Carson City [Add-On SP] in Grand Theft Auto 5. Go through the guide and follow the step-by-step instructions to install it.
1. The first thing you will need to do is download the Carson City Mod from “https://www.gta5-mods.com/maps/carson-city-add-on-sp“. Open the link and click on the green arrow icon under the ‘All Versions’ section to download the mod.
2. You will require an archive manager for this mod to work which is “Open IV”. You can download it from “https://openiv.com/“. Once you have downloaded the required Editor and the Carson City Mod, you have to go to the downloads folder to open the files.
3. On the other hand, open the “GTA V” directory side by side with the downloads folder. Now open the mods folder of the “GTAV” and if you don’t see a mods folder here, then you need to create an empty folder and name it “mods”. After that, create another folder inside it and name it ‘update’.
4. Now go further inside this update folder to create another folder and name it ‘x64’.
5. Then you need to go one step ahead and create a ‘dlcpacks’ folder inside the x64 folder.
6. Go back to the downloads folder and open the “carsoncity” folder. Inside this folder, there will be three folders named “addonprops”, “custom_maps” and “fixed props”.
7. After that, drag the “addonprops” and “custom_maps” folders into the ‘dlcpacks’ folder you created in the mods folder of the GTAV directory.
8. Open the ‘Open IV’ editor and make sure to click on the ‘Edit Mode’ to enable it.
9. Then move to the side column and go to this directory “update > update.rpf > common > data” and scroll down to find doclist.xml. Right-click on it and select Edit.
10. You may find a red banner pop-up asking you to copy it to the mods folder when you are going to follow the directory in the above step. You have to click on the “Show in ‘mods’ folder” tab to do this.
11. Now scroll down to the bottom of the file and copy the last two item tag lines and paste them just before the closing of the paths tag. Copy the names of the downloaded folders which you have copied inside the GTAV directory. Place “addonprops” and “custom_maps” inside the backslashes of item tags. After that, save the file and close it.
12. Now you need to install the fixed props from the downloads folder. For that, you have to come back to the main page of the Open IV and navigate to this directory: mods > x64t.rpf> levels > gta5 > _hills > country_04 > country_04_metadata.rpf. You have to paste the fixed props folder’s files.
13. Open the Fixed props folder from the downloads and you will get YMAP files. Drag all these files into the Open IV directory. After that close all archives.
