The Trader Role is extremely profitable in Red Dead Online but you will only get good money once you reach level 10 in this role.

For each level, you will need to earn 2,000 Trader role experience points. You can donate materials to creeps which include animal Pals’ carcasses and different parts to earn Trader role experience. But it will not make a big difference, to be honest.
The more consistent way of receiving Trader role experience is to complete resupply missions. Creeps will produce 25 goods every time, then he will run out of supplies and will send you a message. You will have the option to order supplies or to start the resupply mission at the bottom of the screen.
If you complete such a mission, you will receive materials supplies, and 500 experience points. You will also receive materials and supplies but no experience at all if you will order supplies. There is a small trick that you can use once you will level up the Trader. Instead of waiting 10 minutes until the supplies will be delivered, you need to open the menu, go to Online, and switch lobby. When you appear in a new Lobby supplies will be delivered. You will also receive materials and it will help you to save a lot of time.
But only repeat this trick when you reach at least level 10 in a Trader role.
You can also earn Trader role experience by unlocking different Awards. There are some free ROM events for a Trader role and it is recommended to complete the Trade Road where you have to protect the train from Bandits. You will earn 500 Trader roll experience points after completing it.
You have to complete the daily challenges and they will reward you with 200 experience points each. The main way of earning Trader role experience points is by completing the deliveries. You will have only a small delivery wagon that can carry 25 goods on the first levels and You will earn 200 experience points for short-distance delivery and 250 experience points for long-distance delivery. You will earn only 700 Trader role experience points per hour and some experience from materials.
But you can earn 5,500 Trader role experience points per hour and experience from materials. You earn exactly the same amount of Trader role experience for delivering a full Trader wagon. It means when you’re making a delivery, you will earn exactly the same amount of experience. You might lose some money this way but you will earn this money back extremely fast. Once you reach level 10, you can purchase a big Trader wagon. You will need to place your Camp properly as one specific location allows you to make 25 deliveries per hour and earn 5, 000 experience points for your Trader. You have to open the left menu, then go to the Camp & Properties option. After that, choose Camp and go to Size and Location small camp. Select choose Geptooth Ridge, it will cost you two dollars to place your camp.
You can go to a travel post in every town and just teleport to your camp. You cannot place your camp in the northern part of Geptooth Ridge. You need to have a camp in the southern part because each delivery will take more time if your camp is closer to Tumble. If you find that your camp is not in an optimal place, then you need to relocate it to do it right to the location where you want your camp to be placed. From there, you have to place your camp in a different location, and then go up to Ridge. If all good camp locations are taken by other Traders, then you have to change the Lobby. And once you have your camp in an optimal location, you will save much more time in the future.
After that, you have to do short-distance deliveries one by one and there will only be two
possible destinations in this area; Benedict point, and scratching post. You will have a look at how long delivery to the scratching post takes if you will place a campaign in the best possible spot. It will take only two minutes for each delivery. There are two different types of delivery missions, first, you have to deliver your Wagon and fight Bandits awaiting you at the destination point. In the second mission, Bandits will attack you while you are on your way. The deliveries are so short that Bandits will never appear, they will only follow you.
The resupply mission will always be to steal a wagon from competitors. It can be done extremely fast and it will grant you 20 materials for your production. By following this method, you will reach level 5 in your Trader role in less than 2 hours. Now you can purchase Medium Delivery Wagon and make full deliveries to earn some money. If you have more than 26 goods, you will earn 1,000 Trader experience points for local delivery and 1250 points for long-distance delivery.Â
You can continue leveling up with this method until you reach level 10. After that, purchase a big wagon and start making real money; 500 dollars for full local delivery and 625 dollars for long-distance deliveries. It is suggested to make long-distance deliveries once you reach at least level 10.
