You have to change some settings to do so, press the options button, navigate to settings, and go to the Controller.
In the controller settings, you have to come under the gameplay, then go to interact/reload behavior and click on it. It will open the techniques to reload and interact faster. You have to flow these steps.
After that, go back to the game and then if you want to pick a weapon, then you need to hold down the Square button to reload and pick up that weapon faster. Now if you press the Square button, then you see your item pick up and your loot bag. This function will allow you to reload very quickly and then you can pick up the item at the same time. When you press the d-pad, then you can see your backpack and you can drop things out of your backpack. If you want to drop every item in your backpack, then you will need to press the R3 button.
