First of all, you have to press options and then go to settings on the top right side of your screen. After that, go to the controller and select the button layout option, it will be set to default. You have to press X on it and then select Custom.
On the left side of your screen, you have the option to select your character, your vehicle, or additional settings. Go to the character to change any button here, then select that button and press the button you want this to replace with. After this, you have to click on confirm.
You can change any old button to a new button, you just have to select that button and then simply press the new button. If you want to reset this, then you have to click on the Reset button and a new screen will pop up. You need to select default and it will reset everything to its default position.
