In this guide, you will come to know how to run a Retail Business in The Sims 4.
You cannot run a home business, so you first have to buy a retail lot; you can also get it from the Magnolia promenade. You will also need a cash register inside for a lot classified as retail. So now you need to use your game phone to purchase the retail store, as shown in the image below.
Now you have to transfer your household income into the business, and with this money, you can build the store, buy some stock and pay your staff. You will also need to find a business for a store that you want to run, like building a music store or fashion store, etc.,
After that, go to the register tab on the bottom right side of the screen, and from this tab, you will find all of the information regarding your business. From there, you can open or close your business, transfer funds into your business, and if you make a good profit, then you can also transfer funds back into your household, as shown in the image below.
You can also view your financial reports and spend perk points. You can also adjust your product price, markup employees, and sell your business. You have to add a cash register in your store because many of the interactions from the tab can also be done from the register options, as shown in the image below.
When you turn on the toggle for sale tag, everything in your store will have a red tag. Before opening the business, you need to have items and their stocks to sell, so you have to click on the thing you want to sell and then click on set for sale, and that item will be available for sale to any other sim, as shown in the image below.
You can also hire a new staff member for your store, and in the initial stages of the store, you can only appoint one staff member, but while making progress in the business, you can have upto three staff members in your store. When you hire them, you need to assign them a task, like sales or restocking, cleaning, etc., as shown in the image below.
If you have available funds, you can also build a small area for your sim to relax in the store; you can also lock this area and restrict it for yourself or your employees.
When you see a blue bar on a customer, Sim will buy an item. You have to greet customers and use retail interactions to get more sales and profit. There will be a twenty-five percent markup on each item, but you can also change it up to one hundred percent profit. When a customer buys an item from your store, you will see a shopping cart icon above their heads, so now you have to click on it and then choose to bring up the customer option, and it will finish the transaction, as shown in the image below.
Once the item is sold to the customer, it will be replaced by an out-of-stock sign, so now you need to click on the add to stock sign, and then you have to click on restock, as shown in the image below.
