This guide will let you know how to run a Vet Clinic in The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs. Go through the guide and follow the step-by-step instructions to run the clinic.
Vet clinics run the same as the retail businesses, so you need to purchase the community lot and then mark it as a vet clinic before operating. There are three requirements for this which are the vet podium where your customer’s check-in is, pet exam table where you inspect the pet, and you also need to have five different bins because pets will make your clinic dirty, as shown in the image below.
You will also need a surgery station to treat more complicated diseases. The medicine crafting table will help you craft various vet-related medicines and treats that will help your vet’s life and make money from it. If you have the vending machine in your clinic, it will help you stock and sell your treats and make money.
Once you have successfully built your vet load, you can purchase your vet clinic from the business tab or buy it from your Sim. You will also need to transfer friends into your business and transfer in or out from your business account. The money you invest in your business will be used to pay employees to buy anything in build mode while you are at your business, as shown in the image below.
In the business panel, there will be an empty area where you can manage and hire employees; you can only hire one employee to start and then with time, you can unlock additional two employees by spending perk points.
You will need at least one exam table for each employee working in your vet clinic. Once you have at least two exam tables, you can hire two employees. You can judge the staff on three skills: veterinarian skills that affect how good they are treating customers, and their handiness skills will help them clean the pet’s leftovers. By default, hired staff will devote their time to treating pets and cleaning the clinic, but if you manage them, you can toggle different actions on them, as shown in the image below.
If you want to improve your staff, you have to invest in their training to serve your customers better. You also have to engage them to boost their morale and offer them a pay rise when their skills become better because if their satisfaction gets too low, they will walk out on you.
You will have different options for your business, like price markup, which will determine how much you charge for your services, and you need to start it with one hundred and fifty percent. The next option is advertising to increase foot traffic to your vet clinic, as shown in the image below.
You can unlock the supply quality by purchasing the unlock supply quality perk to help you offer better services. You can also customize your employee’s uniform, and there are a few vets inspired presets that you can use for your employees. On the bottom right side of the window, you will find a sale tag to tell your store that you will be selling your clinic.
When you open your clinic, the sick pets and their owners will start coming in, so if you choose to greet an owner, you will start examining the pet as your patient and earn twenty-five perk points. Now you need to take the sick pet to the exam table, and you will see a menu option on the top left side of the screen; the top bar on the menu indicates the pet’s stress level.
If the bar becomes high, you have to calm or sue the pet, which will help to lower the bar. You will also find a few blank bars with various symptoms, as shown in the image below.
So now you have to click on the pet and start running tests that will uncover symptoms and make the stress bar up, so you have to calm pets multiple times. When you uncover most of the symptoms, then you will have more options for treatment, and a thumbs down will tell you that the treatment has not worked, and if it works, then you will see a thumbs up, which means its a correct treatment option, as shown in the image below.
When all symptoms are discovered, a grain thumbs up should be next to one of the treatment options you will use to cure the pet. If you uncovered all the symptoms and a green thumbs-up would not display on any treatment option, the pet requires surgery. If you don’t have the surgery station, you can also treat them with the cone of shame, as shown in the image below.
If you have the surgery station, you have to move the pet in it and perform surgery; after curing the pet, you will automatically bill the owner and receive another thirty-five perk points. Your staff rating is an overall measure of how successful your vet clinic is, and a higher rating will attract more people to your clinic, as shown in the image below.
When you cure a lot of pets, your veterinarian skill will rise, and you will get more perk points per level you gain, and you can use these perks to buy vicarious perks from your store.
