This guide will let you know how to actually 100% stop the train in STOP the TRAIN in Grand Theft Auto 5.

The three ways to the train stop involve a cutscene in single player story mode, a parachute mission in single player free mode and Grand Theft Auto Online.

The first instance is the single-player cutscene and that actually begins in the mission ‘derailed’. Basically, the mission is pretty self-explanatory as Trevor takes over the train and you just need to run head-on in it to another train. You have to drive it for a couple of minutes and then all of a sudden Trevor phones Michael and says “you’re ready to go here” then boom all of a sudden, you will see this explosion of two trains colliding with each other on this bridge. That is the first instance in the game of the Train actually getting derailed and destroyed.

Now let’s talk about how you can stop the train in Grand Theft Auto 5 single-player free mode.

There’s actually 13 parachute missions in Grand Theft Auto 5 story mode and you want to look for one that is very close to Mount chiliad. The plotline of this parachute jump is that the pilot of this helicopter tells you “there’s a train about to come through here it would be super awesome if you could land on it” so that’s basically your objective.

It is a very easy parachute drop. All you have to do is complete the mission by jumping down and landing on one of the train carts and it will tell you that you did it successfully is all good.

Now you either need to wait till the train goes out of the tunnel or simply do it. It doesn’t really matter but if you place a couple sticky bombs on the front part of the train where like the captain would sit, you can actually blow this up. There is no one inside, so it’s kind of like a ghost train.

It is a way you can stop the train and Grand Theft Auto 5.

Now you might be thinking what about Grand Theft Auto Online, is there any way to stop the train in Grand Theft Auto Online? No there isn’t, but there is a spot where it does stop and it stops at this location right here.

It’s kind of like a train control center. So it stops there about 30 to 45 seconds and it takes about 20 or 30 minutes for the train to make a full lap around the map so that’s how often it stops which is not that often so probably like maybe 20 times a day in Grand Theft Auto Online.
