There are two different ways to change the party in the game. The first method to change your pokemon party is from a town that has a pasture like Jubalife village marked on your map, as shown in the image below.
You will need to go to the pasture located on the side of the road, and if you want to swap out your pokemon, you have to talk with the girls standing in the front of the shops, as shown in the image below.
The next method is by exploring the map; to change your pokemon team in the open world is by going to obsidian fields at any of the camps. When you get there and unlock the ability to travel fast, you will find a galaxy member there. So talk to him, and he will give you different options like shopping, resting, etc.
You need to click on the option “i want to see my Pokemon,” and you can change your party and make a new Pokemon team there. From there, you can replace your pokemon with any other pokemon you want, as shown in the image below.
