Pokémon ORAS: The Best Steel-Types, Ranked

This guide will cover the best steel-types from Pokémon ORAS (Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire) that are good for competitive battling, competitive team building and for in-game battling. 

Mawile

Mawile is a steel fairy-type Pokémon, it is 0.6 meters (2 feet) tall, weighs 11.5 kilograms (25.4 pounds). Mawile is known as the Deceiver Pokémon.  Its abilities are Hyper Cutter, Intimidate and it yields 1 attack point and 1 defense point when caught. The catch rate is 45% (5.9% with a PokéBall, full HP). Its base friendship is 50 and its base experience points are 133. It grows fast. The egg cycles of these pokemon are 20 (4,884–5,140 steps). 

Magnezone

Magnezone is an Electric/Steel type and its number is 462. Magnezone was introduced in Generation 4, it is 1.2 m (3′11″) tall and weighs 180.0 kg (396.8 lbs). Its abilities are Magnet Pull and Sturdy. Its base friendship is 50 (normal), and the Exp. yield is 241. Its growth rate is medium, and it has a catch rate of 30. The egg cycles of these pokemon are 20 (4,884–5,140 steps).  

Aggron

Aggron is a Steel/Rock type Pokémon having a Mega Evolution, available from X & Y onwards. It was introduced in Generation 3.  Its Pokédex entry says it is known as the Iron Armor Pokémon and that it has Sturdy and Rock Head abilities. It has high Defense and a low catch rate, but its base Friendship is lower than normal. It grows slowly and breeds in groups of two. The Egg Groups are monsters and the gender is 50% male, 50% female. The Egg cycles are 35 (8,739–8,995 steps).

Skarmory

Skarmory is a Steel/Flying-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 2. It is known as the Pokémon which resembles armor. It is 1.7 m (5′07″) tall and weighs 50.5 kg (111.3 lbs). The abilities of Skarmory are Keen Eye and Sturdy EV yield. Its catch rate is 25 (3.3% with PokéBall, full HP. The egg cycles of these pokemon are 25 (6,169–6,425 steps).
