Grass-type Pokémon are among the most overlooked in the franchise.  Let’s take a look at some of the most underrated Grass-type Pokémon of all time.

Tangela

Tangela is a Grass type Pokémon, also known as the Vine Pokémon. It was introduced in Generation 1 with a height of 1 m tall and weighs 35 kg. Tangela’s abilities are Chlorophyll and Leaf Guard. When you catch it, its base friendship is 50. Its growth rate is medium-fast. The egg cycles of these pokemon are 20 (4,884–5,140 steps).

Tsareena

Tsareena is a Grass type Pokémon and the final evolution of Apricot. It is the fruit Pokémon having a height of 1.2 m (3′11″) and weighs 21.4 kg (47.2 lbs). Tsareena can use the unique ability Leaf Guard, which allows it to protect itself from status ailments and weather effects such as sandstorms and hail. Lurantis

Lurantis is a Grass type Pokémon introduced in Generation 7. It is known as the Bloom Sickle Pokémon. It stands at a height of 0.9 meters and weighs 18.5 kilograms. It is part of the Bloom Sickle family, which also includes Flabébé and its evolutions. These Pokémon’s abilities are Leaf Guard and Contrary. Sceptile is a fictional character in a Nintendo game, it is a Grass/Flying type Pokémon. Breloom is a Grass/Fighting type Pokémon that possesses some hidden abilities. Breloom was introduced in Generation 3. It is known as the Mushroom Pokémon and grows at a fluctuating rate. Its friendship base is 50, but its catch rate increases to 11.8% when it has full health. Shiftry

Its abilities are Chlorophyll and Early Bird. It gives 3 Attack points to the Pokémon that catch it when it has full health points. Victreebel

Victreebel is a Grass/Poison Pokémon, it is 1.7 m (5’07”) and weighs 15.5 kg (34.2 lbs). It is known as the Flycatcher Pokémon. Victreebel was introduced in Generation 1. Its abilities are Chlorophyll and it has an average base friendship of 50 (normal) and an average base experience yield of 221. Rotom

Rotom is an electric and ghost-type Pokémon, also known as the plasma Pokémon. It was introduced in Generation 4 with a height of 0.3 m (1′00″)  and 0.3 kg (0.7 lbs) weighs. Its abilities include levitation and 1 special attack point. You can catch it with 45 rate (5.9% with PokéBall, full HP). Its base friendship is 50 and it grows medium fast. Exeggutor

Exeggutor is a Grass/Psychic type Pokémon, known as the Coconut Pokémon. Exeggutor was introduced in Generation 1, and has a hidden ability that allows it to harvest fruit. Exeggutor has chlorophyll which helps it absorb sunlight to energy for its body.It is known as the Coconut Pokémon and has a catch rate of 45 (5.9% with PokéBall, full HP) and base Friendship of 50 (normal). Exeggutor’s growth rate is slow, meaning it will take longer to reach its full potential than other types. The egg group of this pokemon is grass. The gender of this pokemon is 50% male, 50% female. Dhelmise

Dhelmise is a ghost/grass type Pokémon, also known as the Sea Creeper Pokémon. It was introduced in Generation 7, with the abilities that make it strong against Steel-type attacks. It has high catch rates and yields high EV values when caught with a PokéBall, making it an ideal choice for training. The egg group of this pokemon is Mineral. This pokemon is genderless. The egg cycles of the pokemon are 25 (6,169–6,425 steps). 

Gourgeist

Gourgeist is a ghost and grass type Pokémon having the ability to summon pumpkins from the ground. Gourgeist is also known as the Pumpkin Pokémon. Gourgeist can summon two large pumpkins that it can use as weapons against its opponents. Gourgeist may also be used as a means of transportation. The egg cycles of the pokemon are 20 (4,884–5,140 steps). 

Appletun

Appletun is a Grass/Dragon type Pokémon, it is known as the Apple Nectar Pokémon. Appletun was introduced in Generation 8, and it has Thick Fat as its hidden ability. Appletun’s Pokédex entry says that it feeds on nectar from apple trees, and that it can digest even tough plant matter thanks to its thick fat layer.  It has the ability to yield 2 HP per training EV and a catch rate of 5.9% with PokéBall, full HP. Appletun’s base Friendship is 50 (normal) and its base Exp. is 170. Appletun grows at an erratic rate, but can breed with other Grass/Dragon types to produce eggs that will hatch into Dragon or Grass type offspring at 20 Egg cycles each.
