In Red Dead Redemption 2, there are 90 challenges spread across nine main categories required for 100% completion of the game.
These challenges can only be completed one at a time, in a consecutive sequence. After you’ve completed all 90 challenges, you’ll unlock the Legend of the East outfit.
Weapons Expert 1
Kill 3 Enemies with A Knife:
You will need to complete Chapter 1 as a prerequisite, and the reward is “Weapons Expert Holster available at any Trapper”.
You have to look for a gang camp in The Heartlands. Once found, you can use the melee attacks with the knife to take down at least three enemies.
Weapons Expert 2
Kill 3 Enemies In 10 Seconds Using Only Throwing Knives:
The prerequisite of this challenge is to complete “Paying a Social Call” (Chapter 2). The rewards are 25 Health XP and $5.
You will need to make sure to have enough knives for the challenge and if not, buy some from any Fence.
Look for a gang camp in The Heartlands and, once found, use the Deadeye and throw knives to kill three enemies.
Weapons Expert 3
Kill 3 Birds Of Prey Using Only A Tomahawk:
You will need to complete “Paying a Social Call” (Chapter 2) as a prerequisite, and the reward is “Weapons Expert Gun Belt available at any Trapper”.
You have to kill a big or medium-sized animal, move away from the carcass and wait for crows or other birds of prey to spawn and fly down.
You can use the Deadeye to mark the bird and throw the Tomahawk.
If there are no more birds to kill, move away from the area a little and get back soon after.
Another easy way to complete the challenge is by killing the Vulture and the Eagle that spawn on the railing of Bard’s Crossing Bridge.
After killing them, you have to save and reload to make the two birds appear again on the railing.
Weapons Expert 4
Kill 10 Enemies With A Shotgun Using Crafted Ammo:
The prerequisite of this challenge is to complete “Paying a Social Call (Chapter 23). The rewards are 50 Health XP and $10.
Using the Slug Ammo for the Shotgun, you can craft two types of ammo: fire and explosive ammo.
The fire ammo recipe requires Slug ammo and a bottle of Moonshine that can be bought from any Fence.
For the Explosive ammo, together with the Slug ammo, you also need to gather animal fat.
You can obtain the Animal fat by skinning\plucking Bears, Beavers, Boars, Ducks, Geese, Peccaries and Pheasants.
After crafting the ammo, you will need to reach a gang hideout and kill all enemies using only the Shotgun until the challenge is completed.
Weapons Expert 5
Kill 5 Mounted Enemies, Using One Throwing Knife Per Kill:
You will need to complete “Paying a Social Call” (Chapter 2) as a prerequisite and the rewards are 50 Health XP and $10.
If you haven’t completed Chapter 6 yet, the easiest way to complete this challenge is by reaching the locked area of New Austin and West Elizabeth.
Once there, a group of five or six Taman will appear after a few seconds. Wait for them to spawn and kill them with the knives.
If you have already completed Chapter 6, look for NPCs on their horses. When near, you have to antagonize them.
As soon as they start shooting, they will become enemies that can be killed, losing only a bit of honour.
You can avoid losing honor by attacking the lawmen instead, but that will raise your bounty.
Weapons Expert 6
Kill 4 Enemies At The Same Time With A Single Stick Of Dynamite:
The prerequisite of this challenge is to complete “Paying a Social Call” (Chapter 21), and the rewards are 100 Health XP and $15.
You have to make sure to have some dynamite for this challenge and buy it from any Fence.
There are different ways to complete this challenge, by killing NPCs, lawmen or using random events with four or more people near one another.
To avoid losing honour or gain a wanted level, you need to look for a gang camp with at least four enemies.
Equip the lasso, melee attack your enemy to hogtie him and do the same with the others-drink a health remedy or two if you take too much damage,
Once everyone is down, pick them up and place them next to each other. Throw a stick of dynamite at them to complete the challenge.
Weapons Expert 7
Kill 4 Consecutive Enemies By Throwing And Retrieving The Same Tomahawk:
You will need to complete “Paying a Social Call” (Chapter 2) as a prerequisite, and the reward is “Weapons Expert Off-Hand Holster available at any Trapper”.
Make sure to have at least one Tomahawk for the challenge. And if not, you can buy one from any Fence.
With this weapon, you have to reach a gang hideout and use the Deadeye to mark the enemy’s head, then throw the Tomahawk.
You have to run to the enemy’s corpse, retrieve your Tomahawk and throw it again to kill the next enemy.
To complete the challenge, you need to kill a total of five enemies consecutively.
Weapons Expert 8
Kill 15 Enemies Using A Long-Barreled Sidearm:
The prerequisite of this challenge is to complete “Paying a Social Call” (Chapter 2), and the rewards are 100 Health XP and $15.
You have to visit a Gun Store and apply the Long Barrel Component modification to your favourite Revolvers or Pistols.
After that, reach the gang hideout at Hanging Dog Ranch. This hideout has more than enough enemies to complete the challenge.
Once there, kill all the enemies with your modified Revolver or Pistol-use the DeadEye to make this challenge easier.
Weapons Expert 9
Kill 9 Unaware Enemies From Behind, Using The Bow:
You will need to complete “Paying a Social Call” (Chapter 2) as a prerequisite, and the rewards are 150 health XP and $20.
The next thing you will need to do is reach the gang hideout at Six Point Cabin from the east.
Locate the enemy between the campfire and the wagon, and kill him with a normal or improved arrow using the Dead Eye to mark his head.
After killing him, move away from the camp until the red dots on the minimap disappear.
After killing him, move away from the camp until the red dots on the minimap disappear.
Now go back to the hideout, locate the same enemy before, kill him, flee, and repeat these steps until you complete the challenge.
Weapons Expert10
Kill A Grizzly Bear Without Taking Damage, Using Only Throwing Knives:
The prerequisite of this challenge is to complete “Paying a Social Call” (Chapter 2), and the reward is “Weapons Expert Bandolier available at any Trapper”.
You have to make sure to have enough knives for this challenge and buy some from any Fence.
You can also craft and use improved knives or poison knives to deal more damage per single knife to the bear.
Reach the area shown in the map, a common spawn point for grizzly bears, and place your character in the hole between the fallen trees
The grizzly cannot reach this area, so that you won’t take damage at all. If the bear is not already charging you, wait in this spot.
As soon as the grizzly appears, let it get near you enough and use the throwing knives of your choice to kill it.
Try to place a mark on the animal’s eye with the Dead Eye to kill it with a single shot.
If it falls, finish it by throwing another knife. Do not execute the bear with the hunting knife; otherwise, the killing won’t be considered valid for the challenge.
