Harry Potter Spells

In Hogwarts Legacy, your build has to be strong enough to withstand damage while still being able to inflict a considerable amount of damage. For gameplay as varied as in Hogwarts Legacy, having one of the damage, control, and force spells is a must. That’s a red, yellow, and purple spell in your basic cast. Considering the lore of Harry Potter, Accio, and Incendio spells are essential for a Harry Potter Build. Accio’s force spell pulls enemies closer to you. Pairing it with Incendio, a damage spell, yields really good results. Incendio is also particularly useful against the Undead, as the Undead can only take fire damage.

Arresto Momentum is a control spell that Harry uses frequently and is quite effective in combat when dealing with numerous enemies. Also, it slows down enemies, isolates tough-to-kill opponents, and works best for breaking down yellow shields. Another damage spell, Expelliarmus, should be integrated into the build. This spell disarms your opponents, making it easier to defeat them. It also has a better range than Incendio, which is essential in combat.

Harry Potter uses stealth a lot in the series, so the Disillusionment and Petrificus Totalus spells are integral to this build. Disillusionment allows you to go into stealth, while Petrifcus Totalus is used for stealth kills. Handy combo when raiding bandit encampments.

Use Accio and Incendio together for devastating results

Harry Potter Talents

Use Talent points carefully to customize your build

Talents enhance your existing skills, and for this custom build, several essential talents exist. Stupefy now curses the enemy, stunning them starting with the Stunning Curse. It makes them prone to increased damage. Stupefy is used extensively in the series, and this talent help sustain additional damage to opponents. Disarming Curse is another talent, upgrading Expelliarmus to curse enemies. It increases the amount of damage opponents take.

The Ancient Magic Throw Expertise pairs excellently with Expelliarmus. This talent allows you to disarm the opponent and then throw their weapon back at them for additional damage. Slowing Curse upgrades the Arresto Momentum spell and is lethal against enemies with yellow shields. Enduring Curse, an essential talent, increases the duration of a curse meaning enemies take extra damage for longer. Curse Sapper replenishes your health after defeating cursed enemies, which is integral to this build. This talent heals you effortlessly in combat and is a good defensive talent to unlock.

Core Talents

Use Talents that enhance your build’s basic spells

Wiggenweld Potency 1 & 2 are part of the core talents and are essential to any build as they greatly enhance the effect of healing potions. Unlock both of them for easier gameplay. Additionally, getting one of Spell Knowledge 1 & 2 is crucial as it allows you to swap spell sets in the middle of combat. Basic Cast Mastery is vital as it reduces the cooldown of spells. Don’t skip this one.

The pick of them all, Basic Cast Airborne Absorption, charges your ancient magic meter while attacking airborne enemies. This talent works wonders with the Accio and Arresto Momentum spells. Both of these spells cast enemies in the air, leaving them vulnerable to attacks, and with this talent, you will always have ancient magic to defeat difficult enemies. Stupefy Mastery is another key talent when using Stupefy, leaving enemies stunned for longer.

Stealth Talents

Sneak around to cast Petrificus Totalus on unsuspecting enemies

Stealth talents are critical to crafting a Harry Potter build. As Harry Potter uses stealth a lot in the series, it’s pertinent to use all four stealth talents. Starting with Sense of Secrecy 1 & 2, this talent allows you to remain undetected from enemies’ eyes. Human Demiguise allows you to sprint stealthily and sneak behind enemies. Petrificus Totalus Mastery helps the player cast Petrificus Totalus on several enemies while in stealth. It’s powerful and highly effective, and a single cast can wipe out several enemies.

The Invisibility Potion Potency is a crucial talent for those using Petrificus Totalus. It enhances the duration of the Invisibility Potion, which is generally five seconds. This talent also allows you to cast Petrifcus Totalus while invisible, which is incredibly powerful and wipes out the enemy’s entire health pool.

Harry Potter Traits

Level 3 Traits are only applied on Legendary gear

Now for the last part of crafting a Harry Potter Build, the Traits. Remember you need to complete at least 20 hours of playtime to unlock these traits. For Level 3 traits, legendary gear and armour are required to enchant them. Kneazle fur is also required for crafting Level 3 traits. Kneazle fur can be found in Kneazle den, east of Irondale, near the swampy area. For Level 3 traits, you’ll need to loot collection chests in bandit camps. An easy way to get level 3 traits is to save the game before opening the collection chest. Open the collection chest, and if the required trait isn’t there, reload the game, and the collection chest will throw up a new trait. Keep doing this until you get a Level 3 trait. You only need one Level 3 trait and can craft copies of it.

Concentration â…¢ is a handy trait, significantly increasing the damage of all damage spells. Incendio spells get a very powerful boost from this trait. Control â…¢ is another preferred Level 3 trait for this build. It increases the damage caused by Ancient Magic Throw. Enemies suffer catastrophic damage when you disarm and throw their weapons back at them. Scorching â…¢ is another trait that significantly increases the damage caused by Incendio. Disarming â…¢ is a Level 3 trait that increases the damage from the Expelliarmus spell. Last, but not least, Binding â…¢ increases the damage caused by Petrifcus Totalus. Not many enemies survive Petrificus Totalus, but for those who do, this trait ensures that you don’t have to cast it again.
