This guide will tell you how to change your Family Name (Random Generated) for New Account in Black Desert Online.
After the update in march 2021, you are unable to choose your family name when you log in to Black Dessert Online first time.
You will need to open your game, click on the Start button, and they will ask you to create a secondary password. So you have to create a password.
After that, your game will start and you have to choose your server to start playing the game.
Now you need to create your new character and you will see your family name on the top left of your screen. This name is generated by your system, you can change its name by logging in to the game with your character.
Now immediately, you can start creating your character and also choose your character name.
If the seasonal character option is available, you can also create a seasonal character. But in case you don’t want to create, you just need to uncheck that check mark on the right side of your screen.
After creating the normal character, you have to enter the game and set the default game settings by clicking on the next button. Then you will enter the game.
Now you will find your family name which is generated by the system. To change that name, you have to open the character window, and press Enter to open your chat window. The system will ask you to change your family name. Just type your family name, click on the Confirm button, and then tap on the Yes button.
If you succeed, a new screen will appear saying “you are reconnecting…”
After some time, you will enter the game again and now you will see that your family name is changed. Press the enter button, and you will also be able to choose the chat feature now.
Do remember if you don’t change your randomly generated family name, you cannot join the guild as per the policy of the game. You have to change your family name and then you can start playing normally.
