In this guide, you will find out how to complete Olaf’s Gems – The Great Blizzard quest in Dreamlight Valley. You have to follow the step-by-step instructions below to complete it.
You will need to start talking to Merlin and then go to Frosted Heights. Run around to search for Clues, go to the side over by the pillar, and it will say to interact with the wall of the cliff. There will be a big cave; interact with the door, and it will open up.
Head inside, and you will find Olaf, talk to him, and you will find out that his nose, buttons and arms were all stolen by squirrels. He will also ask you to chase down the squirrels.
Move outside and look for the dark squirrels, just run up to them and press your Interact button. There are four of them, and different items will pop out as you interact.
After finding all four of them, return to Olaf and return his stuff. After that, go and talk to Elsa; she will ask you to investigate the pillar. Go to the pillar, use your watering can to water the little sparkling particles, and a real horror film will pop up. It’s your next clue.
Head back to Elsa and tell her what you saw, and she will send you to Olaf. Go through the dialogue and use your watering can on the sparkling particles. Another film will pop up once you water them.
Then go back to Olaf, and he will ask you to find a book about portals. Pick up the book near the wall one you’re looking for is over here against this wall the book is called “So you want to open a dark portal”. Then talk to Olaf again, and he will ask you for supplies. Pick up the shattered prisms inside the cave, and then you will need ten glasses of sand, coal ore, and five purified night shards. Dig the sand up at the beach, and you can get coal from Kristoff’s stall or mine it yourself. For the night shards, dig up all that stuff out of the holes in the ground.
Afterwards, you can craft the Dreamlight prism under functional items and then go to the secret chamber. Interact with the pedestal and put in the prism; it will tell you to find the missing gems you need. You will need orange, green and purple to make a rainbow. You can always refer to your collection if you don’t know where stuff is; Amethyst is in the Frosted Heights, Citrine is in the Glade or the Sunlit plateau, and Emerald is in the forest or the Glade. After getting all of them, make a rainbow that goes down and up. A cutscene will start.
Walk up to the portal and whisper your darkest fear into it. You will have three options: pick any of them to reach in and get the arms and the orb.
Give Olaf his arms and go through his dialogue, and he will hug you. The love of your hug will fix the orb, you need to put the orb back into the pillar, and then the blizzard will come to an end, and everything will be clear. After that, head to Olaf to complete the quest.
