First, you will need to get the fishing rod, and for that, you will need to play and reach the mission of a Fisher of men in chapter 2. In this mission, you have to take Abigail Roberts’ son Jack on a quick mission and then start by equipping your fishing rod and opening the item wheel and selecting it.
You can find the fishing rod in your hunting item slot. You have to attach bait to your rod’s hook with the pole equipped, open the item wheel again, and navigate the fishing tab. You will see that you have multiple bait options in the game. To fish, you need to hold the left trigger to grip the rod and then hold the right trigger and release it to cast your line. Your controller will Rumble slightly when a fish is nibbling, and when it bites the bait, it will Rumble more.
When it starts rumbling, you will need to press the right trigger to hook it. After that, move the left joystick back and forth to tire the fish, and once it stops rumbling, you have to rotate the right stick clockwise and press down on the left control stick to reel it faster. If the controller starts rumbling again, you need to stop rotating the right stick because it could break your line instead. You have to repeat this process until you catch the fish.
