Legendary items are the most sought-after objects in Hogwarts Legacy. They can usually be collected from collection chests scattered throughout the game. These items are also collected by completing the main story quests. Other than their cosmetic value, these pieces are necessary for Wizards looking to upgrade their gear. Players can imbue these legendary items with Level 3 Traits, enhancing their offensive and defensive abilities. This guide showcases a method to get these coveted items easily.
Spawn-Reload Method
Collection chests can be found throughout the immersive world of Hogwarts. These collection chests often contain Traits, gear pieces and gold. The only problem is that players have transverse the world, complete main and sub-quest lines and defeat many bandits to access these collection chests. It is very tedious, and the progress feels gradual. Fortunately, there’s a loophole that players can exploit to get the items they need.
Before opening any collection chest, save your game in the pause menu. Remember the saved game slot, location and time, as it will be useful. After saving the game, go ahead and open the collection chest. Probability dictates that you didn’t find the item you were looking for. Go to the pause menu and reload the game from the slot in which you saved it. Lo and behold! The Collection chest will spawn a new random object in the chest. Keep repeating this method until you find the gear you’re looking for.
The method takes some time and is repetitive, but it is still faster than trying your luck opening all the other collection chests in the world. Collection chests will always generate a new random object as RNG (Random Number Generators) automate this process. Players can test this method over any collection chest in the game. This method, although repetitive, will invariably cough up the right items after some time.
Bonus Puzzle Solution
Open up the map of Hogwarts School, and next to the Library Annex, you’ll see a bridge connecting it to another part of the school. Go on this bridge, and you’ll see two closed circular engravings on the start and end of the bridge, respectively. This is a riddle that promises a handsome reward. Along the sides of the bridge, you’ll see these 4 lamps, with two on each side. Use a Fire spell to set alight all 4 of these lamps.
Next, you’ll notice that all these lamps can be interacted with, and you can shuffle the number underneath the lamp. The number goes from 1 to 4. The secret combination is 4 and 2 for lamps facing each other and 1 and 3 for the lamps on another end of the bridge. This will open up the circular engraved sign on the ground. Descend the stairs, and you will have 2-3 collection chests to loot. Test the Spawn-reload method and collect the items.
